Rodrigo has a background as an award-winning diplomat for his home country of El Salvador. During the last years, he has taken a prominent role in his native country of El Salvador promoting Bitcoin as a tool for financial inclusion. 

In his role as Country Manager for Bitrefill, he has helped onboard hundreds of companies and thousands of individuals to the bitcoin circular economy through work on the ground and educational efforts, gaining first hand experience and knowledge of the challenges associated with the creation of a circular economy and financial inclusion that is both sustainable from a business point of view as well as customer centered.

Rodrigo was also the Vice President and Head of Public Relations of the Cluster of Bitcoin and Blockchain of El Salvador, an emerging entity aimed at promoting bitcoin adoption and providing the industry with a voice, a role he was elected to by the companies in the Cluster.

Finally, Rodrigo has been a part of the team organizing as well as a speaker on the “Adopting Bitcoin” conferences held in El Salvador in November 2021 and 2022.

The experience acquired by Rodrigo leading the coordinated efforts of startup bitcoin companies in El Salvador, strong networking with several influential protagonists in the industry, onboarding of companies in El Salvador from traditional sectors, as well as leading Bitrefill’s customer-centric business development and marketing efforts in the country give Rodrigo an unrivaled multi-sector perspective on learnings from the first country that adopted bitcoin as a legal tender.
